For Renters
Talk me through how I rent step-by-step
- Request an item and enter your credit card details to Kindershare.
- Once the owner accepts your request, get in touch to confirm the pickup details. 3 days before the booking starts, your credit card will be charged the fee. A hold will also be placed on your credit card for the bond amount – this is similar to one that is taken when you check into a hotel. If you are using a debit card, the bond will be deducted in full.
- On the day of pickup, collect the item . Check the item for any pre-existing damages and take photos if required.
- On the return date, return the item to the Owner. The owner will check the item and if there are no issues, the bond will be released in 2 days. Please note that our customers have reported delays
Are there any additional fees for renters using Kindershare?

What is the hold amount?

For example, if the item’s replacement value is $1,000 and you paid a $200 bond, you will be charged ($1,000 * 0.75) – $200 = $550.

When does my bond get returned to me?
If you paid on credit card, the amount will usually drop off your internet banking immediately. We have had some reports of bonds paid via debit cards taking a few days longer than credit card. If the item has been marked returned on our system, but your bond has not yet been returned, please contact your bank to receive an estimate, or get in touch and we can see if there is anything we can do to speed it up!
