Trying to add a car seat to Kindershare? Here is how you can check the date of manufacture of your car seat.

There are  2 ways to check the date of manufacture – stickers or stamps.

Most car seats will have a sticker attached towards the base of the seat – find this and you should easily be able to see the date of manufacture. Here’s an example

If the sticker is not easily visible, then have a look for the ‘stamps’ on the car seat – they often look like clocks. You can see in the picture below that the date of manufacture is July 2015.

In Australia, It is recommended not to use a car seat for more than 10 years. If you have the original receipt which has the date of purchase showing, then you can use the car seat for 10 years from the date of purchase. If you do not have the original receipt, car seats should only be used for 10 years from the date of manufacture.
